MISS RODEO LAKESIDE 2007
APPLICATION AND REQUIREMENTS

December 2008, and practices will start

1.  I certify that I am a female and not less 17 years of age and not more than 24 years of age.  I am single, have
never been married nor have given birth to a child.  I have never posed nude or semi-nude, for any sexually
explicit or compromising pictures, files, publications or movies, and have never been convicted of a felony.  I am
not a member of any other Queen Court.  

2.  If elected as a member of the Miss Rodeo Lakeside Court, I will refrain from smoking, consuming alcoholic
beverages and/or illegal substances, and using profanity or inappropriate language while representing
Miss Rodeo Lakeside / El Capitan Stadium Association and/or any sponsor in any capacity.  A contestant for
Miss Rodeo Lakeside will conduct herself in a respectful, moral and professional manner at all times. Body
piercing may not be on any visible part of your body, tongue, nose, eyebrow etc.(exception of ears).  Tattoos
must be covered by appropriate clothing.


3.  Contestants must waive all liability  on the part of Miss Rodeo Lakeside Queen Pageant and the El Capitan
Stadium Association.

4.  In all cases, the Miss Rodeo Lakeside Queen Committee and the El Capitan Stadium Association reserves the
right to reject entirely, or accept conditionally, an application.  Any accepted application may be rejected for any
unbecoming conduct and /or violation of these rules.

5.  Judging will be conducted in four divisions:  Appearance-30%, Personality-30%, Horsemanship-30%,
Written Test-10%. Practice attendance points will be factored into the Personality category.  Each contestant
will receive one point toward her Personality Category score for each practice attended.  Any contestant no in
attendance at the mandatory meetings (Orientation and Dress Rehearsal) will be penalized 5 points for each
mandatory meeting missed.  Clothing in the pageant consists of a few different outfit changes.  They are
Western Casual and Western Dressy outfit with hats and boots, for Horsemanship, appropriate rodeo attire.
Each contestant must have access to a horse for horsemanship and your own transportation.  Complete tack
must be used; saddle, saddle pad and bridle.

6.  The score of the contestant will be determined in each division by total points of all judges divided by the
number of judges.  The score in the four divisions will be totaled for the final score.  In all divisions, judges
may ask to see all contestants again if, in their opinion, further determination in  the division is necessary.

7.  At the completion of judging, in each division, judging score sheets will be turned into the designated person,
without comparison.  The designated person will give the score sheets to the Contest Auditor who will compute
the totals and keep them in his/her custody until the time of the awards.  At that time, the Contest Auditor will
return them to the designated person.  Judging results will remain secret except for the announced winners.

8.  In the event of a tie for first place, the contestant with the highest score in the Personality Division will be
declared the winner.  If this still leaves a tie, Personality Division and Appearance Division scores will be
totaled with the highest score determining the winner.  If a tie still exists, a committee consisting of one judge
from each division will determine the winner.

9.  The contestants that are successful in becoming Miss Rodeo Lakeside, Lakeside Rodeo  Princess shall
sign contracts with the El Capitan Stadium Association for the duration of one year.  The contract shall outline
the Standards of Conduct and Responsibilities of Miss Rodeo Lakeside; available for you to view at
www.missrodeolakeside.com.

10.  Any breach of this contract shall be deemed grounds for the El Capitan Stadium Association to remove
Miss Rodeo Lakeside from the position of Queen and make a decision as to the appointment of a runner-up
as Miss Rodeo Lakeside for the remainder of the reign.

11.  The Miss Rodeo Lakeside Queen Committee reserves the right to render judgement on any situation not
covered in the rules, or results from differing interpretation.

12.  All gifts to Miss Rodeo Lakeside belong to the El Capitan Stadium Association until her reign ends on
the night of the following year's Miss Rodeo Lakeside Pageant.

13.  Miss Rodeo Lakeside Chaps will always belong to the El Capitan Stadium Association.  The chaps are
perpetual and each year the current Miss Rodeo Lakeside Pageant.

14.  The El Capitan Stadium Association will institute the  "three-strikes-and-you-are-out" ruling with the
Miss Rodeo Lakeside Queen.  First offense-Verbal Warning, second offense-Written Warning and the third
offense Miss Rodeo Lakeside will turn in all pageant gifts to the Miss Rodeo Lakeside Queen Committee and the
Lakeside Rodeo Princess will assume the role as Miss Rodeo Lakeside,  with the approval of the Committee.  
If she is unable to fill the role, the decision will be left to the El Capitan Stadium Association.  Whoever fills the
position for Miss Rodeo Lakeside will not be able to run for the title of Miss Rodeo
Lakeside in any future pageant.  The Miss Rodeo Lakeside Queen Committee reserves the right to remove the
title of Miss Rodeo Lakeside from the Queen immediately if the offense is too severe to go
through the "three-strikes process".
